TUESDAY!!!

Good morning, Monday was a great, the weather not so good, but the Gift Show was good, we had so much fun, and then we went to Quincy Market, OH my God it was so cool, and across the street NINE WEST!!!!! awesome...Lunch was was so good, company AWESOME!! It was so nice to have real conversations without the phone ringing, or getting interrupted, it was so good to spend time with my friend...I even took my camera but unfortunately....to rainy and cold, damp...but it's OK, it was the company that was important....talk soon, thanks for listening...Mel

BUSY WEEKEND!!!!

Good morning!!!!
Busy weekend but it was all good!!! Our cousins baby shower, I was really happy I didn't have to work...so I could attend...It was at NINO'S IN COVENTRY.... WOW!!!!! MY FRIENDS CHARLIE & TERRY DID A FANTASTIC JOB WITH THE REMODEL.....IT'S BEAUTIFUL!!!! THE BRIDES WILL BE SO SURPRISED!!!! IT'S CLOSE TO HOME ON THE WATER AND IT'S BEAUTIFUL!!!! SO GO AND SAY HI TO CHARLIE & TERRY!!! YOU WON'T BE SORRY...

Then we went to pamper ourselves w/manicure and pedicure...BOY DID I NEED THAT!!!!! Spend the rest of the day with friends, and then we went to play Italian Cards with Sister in law and brother in law..It was fun but the espresso coffee which I totally love kept me up longer than i wanted to be....
Today off to Boston...business...with my friend Cynthia from Choc.Dreams BOSTON GIFT SHOW..even though it Business We are planing to on making a day of it and spend some time in Boston...I will let you know later...CIAO!!!!

NEW THINGS WE LEARN....

I know it's been a while sorry, but all is good it's been an enlightening week!! Amazingly each day teaches us a new lesson....first and foremost you have to believe in yourself...even when things are not where you want them to be...if you believe in yourself, that's half the battle....

Hope, Faith, Believe, Love, it can't be about other people, it has to be about you, nobody is really truly tuthful to you but it's important that you are truthful with yourself....defining Truth is very hard for many reasons, people bend the truth to protect you, or to protect themselves, eather way it's up to you to know what degree untruthfulness you are willing to let go, or just say enough! sometimes we don't want to be protected, we have to deal with the reality, or you are always lying to yourself.....

Faith- nobody can give you faith but yourself, it's from your past, it's who you are....
we all need faith to get us from one point to the next, and when we are unsure sombody told me last night, remember your past, and remember what having faith has accomplished in your life...I HAD FORGOTTEN ABOUT IT...

Hope- with out it there is nothing to live for..

Believe-if you don't who is going to?

Love-the most important person that can love you is YOU....you have to love yourself always, other people can choose when they love you....it's giving up your power depending on other people's love....It's wonderful feeling to have...if for the right reason, but not necessary to survive....

So my point is you have to believe in yourself, and sometimes we forget...no matter how many people are in your life, you have to have Faith, Love, Believe, Hope, IN YOU....whatever you get from the people in your life.... if truly sincerely given is a Gift.... BUT THE REAL GIFT IS YOU......

Today Cindy From Chocolate Dreams and I did a Wine Tasting Show for the brides of Whispering Pines it was a very long day but we got to talk to the couples.....and different vendors that we do business with....hopefully we will be providing some of our services for the couples.

THURSDAY!!!

Good morning!!!! Hopefully everybody is doing well, in our area we still have snow to deal with, and cold.....but for those of us that are not to happy with this lets keep one thing in mind...SPRING IS RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER....YAHHHHHHHHH....It's difficult sometimes to see the glass half full....we tend to see the glass half empty....I know that from reading my blog I am the first that sometimes has a problem with that theory....I know that it's probably to late to make a NEW YEAR RESOLUTION....but what the heck I'm doing it anyway...

I will be the first one to admit that sometimes we forget to see all the beautiful gifts God sends us our way,some are small, some are big, but we get so caught up in life and we miss them....I have realized sometimes I forget to look at that silver lining ...but I know it's there....IT ALWAYS IS....

So my new belated New Year resolution is to be positive, and the other problem is when you are in that state of mind, you forget about yourself....life is difficult, but it's difficult for everybody!

I'm thinking about teaching classes at Morning Glory on landscape designs....especially with the economy the way it is, people are starting to go back to basics....doing more at home and a lot of our customers have been coming in about advice on landscape designs....That is really my first love....I always thought I would go in that field but you know how it goes!!! LIFE!!!!! I love doing landscape designs and it's very rewarding for the soul...for people that love the outdoor, and flowers&plants and playing with dirt like I do there is no other feeling....and my friends it's a great workout, and a great form of relaxation...... a great family activity...Well it's been really our customers that have come in for advise that have suggested about the classes....as a society I thing we have forgotten the basics, if we wanted to have nice yards we hired a landscaper, if we wanted beaches, we go on vacations, if we wanted a good special meal, we go to a nice restaurant....how many average people can really afford to keep doing this today? very few and God Bless those who can....but for the rest of the struggling average person LIFE CAN STILL BE GOOD...BACK TO BASICS...

The best place is to start at home...you want a nice yard but cant afford a landscaper, well there are many things you can do yourself, with the family....the problem is that we do always see that glass half empty....we are a society of negativeness....we like to keep up with our friends we are used of getting anything we wanted..and now we are saying what the heck are we going to do...chances are that our friends are having the same problems we are.....look at the economy, at the stock market, the people that had life figured out..... with their nest egg....some of them have nothing left.....but as a society WE CAN'T GIVE UP...THIS COUNTRY NEEDS POSITIVE THINKING.....THE PRESIDENT CANT DO IT ON HIS OWN....WE HAVE TO TAKE A PRO-ACTIVE APPROACH....AND WE NEED TO STOP BLAMING EVERYBODY ELSE FOR OUR PROBLEMS....

We are used of living a good life and we might have to stop and review what that good life is at this time....and find new way have to have a good life....ITS NOT ALL ABOUT THE MONEY.....because from experience money pays bills but it doesn't always give you true happiness......IT'S ABOUT ATTITUDE....IT'S ABOUT POSITIVE THINKING, AND BELIEVING THAT WE ARE GOING TO BE OK....and one more thing for those of you that are afraid to let your friends know, that maybe you can't go out every weekend , or join them on a nice vacation, IF THEY ARE TRUE FRIENDS THEY WILL STILL BE YOUR FRIEND, I ALWAYS SAY AND I LEARNED THIS THE HARD WAY BELIEVE ME...YOU CAN'T BE A FRIEND ONLY WHEN THINGS ARE GOOD, IT'S WHEN THINGS GET TOUGH THAT YOU FIND OUT WHO YOUR TRUE FRIENDS ARE....well thanks for listening...MEL

MONDAY!!!

You know what I said about not getting so much snow...well I changed my mind..WE GOT PLENTY OF SNOW, AFTER SHOVELING FOR A FEW HOURS, BELIEVE ME WE GOT MORE THAN I would have liked to shovel...the wind drift snow was the worst...some spots was at least two feet of snow...but it is all done even the deck and a path to shed...well I hope we are done with snow for this year...Mel...

MONDAY!!!

Well we didn't get as much snow as predicted...WHAT A SURPRISE!!!!! Well since We closed the shop today, no sense in taking chances having our drivers out on the road with this mess...so I think I'm going to go and shovel outside...been trying to incorporate more activities in my day, one of the drawback in my job, is that you stand in one spot and design, I'm used to having jobs that are a lot more physical, so I have decided this year to really try to make time for myself...I tend to get so involved in everything else that I forget to really concentrate on my needs...well that is going to change.....I will let you know of my progress from time to time....so breakfast, and off to shoveling....great exercise, plus fresh air, nothing better than that, I love working out outside, plus it gives you time to reflect on things....and put it in prospective.... so here I go!!!! talk later ....Mel

SUNDAY!!!

It's been a very long week but it's Sunday, and it looks like we are going to get a substantial amount of snow!!!!!! I'm looking for Spring, not more snow......I think that the forecasts are probably , hopefully wrong, and we won't get much...This was a bad weekend for this snow, we were supposed to go to CT...for our annual design show!!! unfortunately we didn't want to take a chance of getting stuck there..It's different when you are responsible for the business....but even though I feel bad we couldn't go, there will be plenty of other ones all over the country that we can attend...(I want the one in Hawaii) but I haven't been able to convince my partner Linda with that one yet lol lol.....there are Lot's of great ones, The Dallas Texas one was good...each show you get to see different designers from all over the world, with different techniques, and different designs, that you can offer your customers, from funeral work to wedding work, special events, and of course every day ideas you can use in making your shop more appealing to customers...

The day where you could get away with the same designs for all your customers are over...THANK GOD..... well for some florists that's their trademark unfortunately, same thing over and over again......brides want trendy on the edge one of the kind bouquets, which we customize for every bride we have....customers want to walk in to a florist shop and be comfortable being there and not feel like they are being rushed, so it is our job to provide the time and the knowledge, and of course exquisite designs ....the day where you walk a florist shop and have to stand at the counter and discuss wedding design or funeral work doesn't work any more, our customers expect a more personal touch...it's a long time coming.....so it is a good idea for a business owner to make it your business to invest the time what your customer's needs are.....my philosophy is that if we are lucky enough to be chosen by our customers, to trust us to create designs for whatever their event is then they deserve to get the service that they expect... and a create a place where they feel comfortable enough to come for any occasion...

I'm sure I will hear all about the show and what we have missed, but like I said there are plenty to go to...for now home bound...it does look pretty nasty out there and it is supposed to get a lot worst...have a great day Mel
